India Pakistan and the Kashmir Tangle

The Author makes an incisive analysis of the tragedy of Kashmir and the crisis in the relations between India and Pakistan. But he presents a hopeful prognosis. He believes that ”War can be avoided; peace can be attained; and the chances of doing so are better than before.”

If the opportunity is seized with a will ”the Kashmir dispute will come to an end with neither India not Pakistan feeling that it has lost its side of Kashmir to the other country.

He suggests a process which can lead, by stages, to ”joint management” first, and then gradually go ‘beyond joint management.’
